PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Actis has elected Torbjorn Caesar as the firm’s new senior partner. Torbjorn succeeds Paul Fletcher, who becomes non-executive chairman of the firm. Torbjorn was previously co-head of Actis’ energy business.

The Blackstone Group said that Jonathan Pollack has joined the firm as a senior managing director in its Real Estate Group. Pollack was previously a managing director and Global Head of Commercial Real Estate, as well as Head of Risk for Structured Finance, at Deutsche Bank.

Falconhead Capital LLC said that Robert J. Fioretti has joined the firm as a managing director. Fioretti most recently served as a managing director and a founding team member of Mistral Equity Partners.

HgCapital has hired Tom Maddison, former global HR director at Xerox Corp, for the new role of head of portfolio talent. Maddison, who starts in August, will be responsible for supporting management teams to develop talent across HgCapital’s portfolio as well as within the firm itself.

Macquarie Infrastructure Corp has named Liam Stewart as chief financial officer, effective June 30. Stewart joined Macquarie and has worked with MIC since April of 2014 serving as asset director for MIC’s Atlantic Aviation business. Previously, he was senior vice president and management partner at Global Tower Partners.

Maranon Capital LP has named Daniel Kirmse and Santo Barretta as portfolio analysts. Previously, Kirmse worked at MB Financial Bank while Barretta was at Standard & Poor’s.

Tom Bradley has joined Oxford Capital as managing director of its growth capital investment business. Previously, Bradley worked at DN Capital where he served as a partner focusing on the software and Internet industries.

Rick Organ has joined Resilience Capital Partners as an Aviation Operating Executive. Organ was previously CEO of two private equity-backed aviation businesses: Schneller, which was sold to Transdigm Group Inc, and Align Aerospace, which was sold to AVIC International.

Sorenson Capital announced that Rob Rueckert has joined the private equity firm to expand its technology practice. Rueckert was formerly a managing director at Intel Capital.

Star Mountain Capital LLC has named John J. Mack as a senior advisor and strategic investor. Mack is the former chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley.

Strategic Investment Group has hired Bolajoko Olusanya as a managing director on its global equities team. Previously, Olusanya was in charge of managing equity and fixed income portfolios for Vanderbilt University’s endowment.

Wynnchurch Capital has promoted Chris O’Brien and Ian Kirson to partner. Rosemont, Illinois-based Wynnchurch is a middle-market private equity firm that invests in niche manufacturing, distribution and business service companies.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Altegris announced that Chief Investment Officer Jack Rivkin will assume the role of CEO and vice chairman of Altegris Advisors. Ken McGuire, chief operating officer, and Matthew Osborne, head of Marketing and Business Development, will become co-presidents reporting to Rivkin. Jon Sundt, founder of Altegris who has been CEO since 2002, will continue as chairman and will continue to lead Altegris’ distribution arm, Altegris Investments. Altegris is owned by Aquiline Capital Partners and Genstar Capital Management.

Black Rhino, a portfolio company of the Blackstone Group, said Muhammad Sanusi II, emir of Kano, has joined its board as chairman. Black Rhino, of Lagos, Nigeria, develops and acquires energy and infrastructure projects across Africa.

The Carillon Hotel & Spa, a portfolio company of Z Capital, has named Lester L. Scott as managing director. Recently, Scott was general manager/director of hotel operations in China for the Capella Hotel Group. Based in Miami Beach, Carillon Hotel & Spa is a boutique hotel and luxury spa.

FirstLight Fiber, a portfolio company of Riverside Partners, has named Jill Sandford as vice president and general counsel. Sandford is the former associate general counsel for Zayo Group and AboveNet. Based in Albany, New York, FirstLight Fiber is a provider of telecommunication services operating fiber networks in upstate New York and Northern New England.

Giact Systems LLC, a portfolio company of Tritium Partners, has added two senior sales executives. Robert McAlear was hired as EVP of Sales and Marketing while Timothy Potvin was hired as SVP of Sales. Both are newly created positions.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Investment management company BNY Mellon has named Alan Flanagan as global head of private equity and real estate fund services. Previously, Flanagan was global head of product management at BNY Mellon’s Alternative Investment Services.

Troy, Michigan-based automotive supplier Inteva Products has named William Dircks as vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, Dircks was senior advisor at Charterhouse Equity Partners.

TipTree Financial Inc said that Sandra E. Bell will join the company as CFO effective July 1. Bell most recently served as CFO of Prospect Mortgage, a portfolio company of Sterling Partners.

PROMOTIONS

International investment bank Altium has promoted Sam Fuller to head of its London office. Fuller has been with Altium since 2000.

Wells Fargo Capital Finance has announced new leadership roles for executives Scott Diehl, Steve Macko and Kurt Marsden. Diehl will lead a newly formed group that includes the Supply Chain Finance Division, Receivables Securitization Group, plus the general and specialized factoring products offered by the Commercial Services group. Macko will head the Industries Group, which includes Technology Finance, Specialty Finance, Lender Finance and Flatiron Capital. Marsden will lead the Corporate Finance Group, which includes Business Finance, Capital Finance UK, Junior Capital, Syndicated Finance and Retail Finance. Wells Fargo Capital Finance is the asset-based lending division of Wells Fargo & Co.
