On the move, 8.29.2016 – Thoma Bravo names new partner

PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Adams Street Partners hired Kevin O’Donnell as a partner and global head of business development and investor relations. He also joins the executive committee. Previously, O’Donnell was a managing director at BlackRock.

Charlesbank Capital Partners named Sandor Hau a managing director and Matthew Jacobson a principal. Hau most recently was a managing director and head of corporate credit and special situations at Nomura. Jacobson recently served as executive director at a credit-focused asset-management firm. Charlesbank also promoted Joshua N. Beer and Jason W. Pike to managing director.

Comvest Capital, the direct lending group of Comvest Partners, hired Brad Nii as a managing director. Nii previously was a managing director at Monroe Capital.

Constitution Capital Partners, the Boston lower-mid-market private equity firm, hired Raymond Shih as an associate and Athilia Chau Banh as a staff accountant. Shih joins from Landmark Partners, where he served as an analyst, while Banh was a fund administrator at State Street Capital.

DW Healthcare Partners named Gabriel Becher a principal. Becher formerly was a portfolio manager with Alberta Investment Management Corp.

Gemspring Capital tapped Thomas Zanios as a managing director. Zanios previously was a principal at Odyssey Investment Partners.

Gridiron Capital LLC appointed Sean Kelley a principal and director of business development. Kelley previously was a vice president at BB&T Capital Markets’ investment banking division.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners hired Brett Craig as a principal. Craig formerly was a vice president at H.I.G. Capital. Hidden Harbor also moved to a new office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hirtle Callaghan appointed Ranji Nagaswami CEO. Nagaswami earlier had been an operating partner and senior adviser at Corsair Capital and a strategist at Bridgewater Associates. From 2010 to 2012, she was an investment adviser to the administration of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Mainsail Partners named William Salisbury chief financial officer and operating partner. Salisbury previously was CFO at Hearsay Social.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management – Global Real Assets appointed Rossano Nonino chief investment officer and head of real estate for Brazil. Nonino, who founded Gávea Real Estate in 2012, will work out of the São Paolo office, leading a team of eight investment professionals.

New Energy Capital Partners named Jeph Shaw and Ian Marcus principals in its Hanover, New Hampshire, office. Shaw was previously an associate with the firm while Marcus joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was a vice president on the solar desk within the North America power and gas unit in its commodities division.

Perella Weinberg Partners hired Mauro Rossi as a managing director for its advisory business. Rossi previously was at Morgan Stanley, in the post of executive director focused on M&A, strategic advisory, corporate restructuring and fundraising deals for clients in the insurance sector.

Pfingsten hired Scott Gilbertson as a principal for its corporate finance team. Gilbertson joins from Riverside Co.

Revolution LLC, the Steve-Case-led investment firm, named Tracy Van Grack  senior vice president of communications and public policy. Van Grack formerly was at Brunswick Group, serving a director focused on corporate reputation, public affairs and crisis management.

Shamrock Capital Advisors tapped Timothy Bluth and Sam Halls vice president and senior associate, respectively. Bluth had been a senior associate at Gores Group while Halls was an associate at Silver Lake Sumeru.

Sunstone Partners, a growth-equity spinout of Trident Capital, named Gabriel Shaukat and Ankur Rathi vice presidents and YueFeng Du, Emanuel Pleitez and Sidhant Misra as associates. Andy Cao was promoted to vice president from senior associate.

TA Associates said Michael Libert and Lee Mooney rejoined the firm as vice presidents based in Boston. Sarah Wang was named a VP, based in Menlo Park, California.

Thoma Bravo named Hudson Smith a partner. Smith previously led tech investments at HGGC. The private equity firm also named Matt Gilbert and AJ Jangalapalli vice presidents. Gilbert joins from Summit Partners while Jangalapalli recently graduated with an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Z Capital Group LLC appointed Sean Maddock a managing director and operating partner. Maddock previously was regional director of operations at Evolution Hospitality.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Accurus Aerospace Corp, which is backed by Liberty Hall Capital Partners, hired Cory Welscher as president and general manager of Precise Machining & Manufacturing. Accurus acquired Precise in 2013.

GTCR portfolio company Cision appointed Kevin Akeroyd global CEO. Akeroyd succeeds Peter Granat, who becomes chairman. Akeroyd joins from Oracle Marketing Cloud, where he served as senior vice president and general manager.

Currencies Direct, a portfolio company of Corsair Capital and Palamon Capital Partners, named Antony Jenkins non-executive chairman. Jenkins is the former CEO of Barclays Plc. Currencies Direct is the London provider of international payment services.

ABRY-Partners-backed FastMed Urgent Care hired Robert W. Hutchison as chief financial officer. Hutchison was formerly CFO at U.S. HealthWorks. FastMed owns and operates urgent-care facilities in Arizona, North Carolina and Texas.

Healthcare software company SilverVue named Michael Critchfield executive vice president of sales and marketing. Critchfield previously helmed the commercial business division at InsideSales.com. SilverVue is backed by Pritzker Group Venture Capital and GE Ventures.

United Road Services, a majority-held portfolio company of Charlesbank Capital Partners, said Chief Operating Officer Mark Anderson added the president’s post. Chief Executive Kathleen McCann adds the post of chairman. She succeeds Michael Eisenson, managing director and CEO of Charlesbank.

Verisk Health, a portfolio company of Veritas Capital, appointed Emad Rizk  chief executive. Rizk previously was CEO of Accretive Health.

Woodstream Corp appointed Miguel A. Nistal president and CEO. Woodstream, a supplier of branded lawn and garden products, is a portfolio company of Vestar Capital Partners.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Baird hired Glen Clarke as a managing director for its global consumer team. Clarke formerly was a managing director and head of the food and agribusiness group at KeyBanc Capital Markets.

Hamilton Insurance Group, the Bermuda holding company for insurance and reinsurance operations, named Russell P. Fradin to the board. Fradin is an operating partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. He is also the former president and CEO of SunGard Data Systems.

Pensco Trust Co, an Opus Bank subsidiary, named Curtis A. Glovier chairman and CEO. Glovier is a former managing director at Fortress Investment Group. He is also a former managing director and co-head of Perseus’ middle-market buyout group.

Proskauer hired Vikki McKay as a partner in the firm’s private equity real estate group. McKay, based in London, previously worked at DLA Piper.

Investment bank and adviser Sagent Advisors appointed Greg Melconian a managing director and head of diversified industrials. Melconian joins from BMO Capital Markets, where he was a managing director and co-head of diversified industrials.

Advisory firm Stout Risius Ross appointed Todd Parsapour and Keith Sipes managing directors to lead the firm’s energy and technology and media and telecom practices, respectively. Parsapour formerly was a senior executive in the energy services and equipment corporate finance group at Simmons & Co. Sipes for more than 16 years provided strategic advisory and corporate financial services.

Vantage Drilling International, an offshore drilling contractor, named Ihab Toma CEO and a director. Since 2014, Toma has been a senior adviser to First Reserve Corp.

William Blair expanded its leveraged finance investment banking team. The firm named Jeff Zolkin managing director and head of high-yield finance and Jonathan Lee as director of high-yield finance to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Blair also appointed Paul Majeski vice president of high-yield finance for the New York office. All join Blair from Imperial Capital.

PROMOTIONS

Accurus Aerospace Corp, backed by Liberty Hall Capital Partners, promoted Diane Craig to vice president of finance, Andrea Dorr to senior vice president of business development, Larry Johnson to corporate vice president of operations and Tyson Toews to vice president of programs and supply chain. The company provided machined parts, kits and assemblies and processing services for the aerospace and defense sector.

Colerain RV, backed by Kidd & Co, promoted Wade Stepp to president and chief operating officer. Stepp had served as executive vice president of operations. Colerain is the Cincinnati specialty retailer of recreational vehicles.

Graycliff Partners promoted Will Henderson and Duke Punhong to managing director.

Watermill Group promoted Julia Karol to president and chief operating officer, Michael Fuller to chief financial officer and Matthias Bergin to principal.
