Firm: Post Oak Energy Capital
Fund: Post Oak Energy Partners II LP
Target: $500 million
Amount Raised: $600 million
Buyouts initially reported that the firm was exploring its second buyout fund back in April, with a formal launch possible this past fall.
Post Oak Energy Partners II will continue the same strategy as its predecessor fund, Post Oak Energy Partners LP, by investing in North American oil and gas companies, oil field services and related infrastructure, the firm said.
Targeting the middle market, Post Oak pursues corporate growth capital, development acceleration, acquisitions and recapitalization deals.
So far, Post Oak has teamed up with Goldman Sachs, Ridgemont Equity Partners and others in its investments, which include seven energy companies; five regionally focused oil and gas operators, one oilfield services company and one midstream company.
“We are pleased that our strategy and team have the support of some of the most experienced private energy investors in the world,” Frost Cochran, managing director of Post Oak, said in a prepared statement.
