George Arnold has joined Knightsbridge Advisers as a managing partner. He previously led venture capital and growth equity investments at Citigroup Private Equity. Knightsbridge is a fund-of-funds focused on early-stage venture capital.

Arsenal Capital Partners has promoted John Televantos to principal. He is a veteran specialty chemicals industry executive who joined Arsenal in January 2006 as an executive vice president, after having served as vice president of Hercules Inc. and president of its Aqualon Company.

Jayanta Banerjee has joined Lehman Brothers as managing director and head of private equity and growth capital in India (excluding real estate). He previously was a director with ICICI Ventures.

Neil Banta has joined Lehman Brothers as managing director in the firm’s private equity fund marketing group. He previously held a similar position with Citigroup.

Francois Bernardeau and Julian Asquith have joined London-based secondaries firm Headway Capital as a senior advisor and CFO, respectively. Bernardeau previously was president and CEO of Natexis Private Equity Opportunities, while Asquith was fund controller at Babcock & Brown. Headway also announced that it soon plans to raise its second fund.

Richard Clemmer has joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) as a senior advisor. Clemmer most recently was CEO of semiconductor company Agere Systems.

Julien De Marco has joined Activa Capital as an investment analyst. He spent the past two years with Ernst & Young, in the transaction services and corporate restructuring department.

Chris Durbin has joined Vestar Capital Partners as a Boston-based principal in the firm’s resources group, which aids the firm’s portfolio companies. He previously was with Bank of America’s global wealth and investment management unit, as a managing director.

First Reserve Corp.

has promoted Tim Day, Joe Bob Edwards and Hardy Murchison to managing director. Day joined the firm in 2000, and focuses on the downstream segment of the energy industry. Edwards joined in 1998, and focuses on the oilfield service and infrastructure sectors. Muchison has been with First Reserve since 2001, and focuses on the oil and gas reserve sectors.

Brad Henske has agreed to join Hellman & Friedman as a managing director in the firm’s San Francisco office. He previously was general manager of Intuit Corp.’s consumer tax group (maker of TurboTax), after previously having served as the company’s CFO.

Ben Hewetson has decided to leave U.K. buyout shop HgCapital, where he has been responsible for most of the firm’s leisure sector investments. Reports say that the move is partially the result of a recent managerial restructuring at HgCapital, whereby Hewetson’s leisure team was merged with its consumer team. No word yet on his future plans.

Thomas Hutchison III has joined KSL Capital Partners as a senior advisor. He also will be a senior advisor to KSL Resorts, a KSL portfolio company that manages six resort properties. Hutchison previously was CEO of CNL Hotels and Resorts Inc., a lodging industry REIT.

Rakesh Kaul has joined The Carlyle Group as a senior advisor to the firm’s consumer and retail team. He also will join the board of Carlyle portfolio company Oriental Trading Co. Kaul’s past jobs have included CEO of catalog marketing company Hanover Direct.

Douglas Kelly and Ryan Levitt have joined the co-investment group of Pomona Capital as a principal and senior analyst, respectively. Kelly previously was with Barclays Capital as a director in the U.S. strategic finance divisions, while Levitt was an investment analyst with GE Equity. Both will be working under Lorraine Hliboki, who joined Pomona earlier this year to head its co-investment business.

KRG Capital Partners has named three new managing directors: Blair Tikker, Ted Nark and Stewart Fisher. Tikker joined the firm in 2006 as a part-time consultant, focused on deal-sourcing and organizational development at KRG’s portfolio companies. Nark previously was chairman and CEO of White Cap Construction Supply Inc., a former KRG portfolio company sold to Home Depot in 2004. Fisher previously was CFO and executive VP for administration at Accellent Inc., a former KRG portfolio company sold to KKR in 2005.

David Libowitz has joined Tri-Artisan Partners as a managing director. He previously was a partner with Warburg Pincus.

David Lyon has joined D.E. Shaw Group, as a member of its special situations/distressed private equity team. He previously was a managing director of The Cypress Group.

Colin Maltby has decided to retire as head of investments for BP Pension Fund, after a seven-year run. He will be succeeded by Tony Pike. In other BP news, Vicky Wilson has been hired as head of private equity, a new position. She previously spent time with both the British Airways and Shell Pension Funds.

Henry McVey has agreed to join Fortress Investment Group as a managing director focused on public equity investing. He previously was a managing director and chief U.S. investment strategist at Morgan Stanley.

Merrill Lynch has named Purna Saggurti as head of I-banking and capital markets origination for the Americas, according to Bloomberg. Mark Aedy will be his European counterpart.

Alvaro de Molina, the former Bank of America CFO, has agreed to join Cerberus Capital Management, according to The Wall Street Journal. He will focus on the financial services sector, including the 51% GMAC stake Cerberus acquired from General Motors.

Victor Nesi reportedly has moved into Merrill Lynch’s private equity unit, after having run the bank’s tech/media/telecom group and I-banking in the Americas.

Vincent Pappalardo has joined Dresner Partners as a managing director focused on middle-market transactions in the metals and general industrial sectors. He previously was a director in the basic industrial group at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin.

William Price, co-founder of TPG, has joined the advisory board of Presidio Financial Partners, a San Francisco-based wealth management firm.

Elizabeth Obershaw has joined Horsley Bridge Partners as a managing director. She had spent the past 16 years as CIO of the Hewlett-Packard retirement plans.

Susumu Sekihata has joined Vestar Capital Partners as a director of Vestar Japan Advisors, an affiliated office in Tokyo. He previously was a vice president and founding member of Red Diamond Capital, a U.S. middle-market buyout group affiliated with Mitsubishi.

Joan Solatar has joined The Blackstone Group as senior managing director of public markets and director of equity research. She previously was with Bank of America as a managing director and director of equity research.

Jon Symonds has resigned as CFO of AstraZeneca, in order to join Goldman Sachs as a managing director focused on increasing the firm’s private equity activities in the healthcare sector.

David Wezdenko has resigned as chief financial officer of Evercore Partners, less than a year after than firm went public. He will be replaced, effective immediately, by Robert Walsh, a senior partner at Deloitte & Touche.
