Tracy Bahl, former CEO of Uniprise, has joined General Atlantic as a special advisor to the firm’s healthcare practice. He will provide industry insight and strategic counsel to GA and its portfolio companies.

Martin Bolland has decided to leave UK buyout firm Alchemy Partners, where he was an original partner.

Katina Dorton has joined Needham & Co. as a managing director in the firm’s corporate finance department, with a focus on life sciences. She previously was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley.

Michelle English has joined Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP as a London-based partner in the firm’s private equity practice. She will focus on cross-border buyout and VC transactions. She previously was with Kirkland & Ellis.

Mark Hauser has joined Sandell Asset Management as a senior managing director responsible for the firm’s global private equity practice. He previously spent seven years as a managing director at FdG Associates, where he served as a member of the firm’s investment committee.

William Hobbs has joined middle-market buyout firm High Road Capital Partners as a partner. He previously served as interim CEO for several portfolio companies of The Riverside Company.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has made three new hires: David Sorkin, former M&A attorney with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, as general counsel; Robert Gottlieb, former HR manager with Goldman Sachs, as chief human resources officer; and Edward Brandman, former managing director with PwC, as chief information officer.

Julie Levenson has joined Cowen Group Inc. as a managing director and head of the firm’s private equity group. She previously was a managing director with Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, where she led the firm’s private equity and PIPE placement business. Before that, she ran the private placement group at Bear Stearns.

Norbert Reis has joined The Carlyle Group as a managing director for European buyouts, with a focus on opportunities in Germany and Austria. He previously was with Credit Suisse as vice chairman of I-banking and co-head of European M&A.

Jens Tonn has joined Vestar Capital Partners, where he will launch and run a new office in Munich, Germany. He previously was a managing director with Candover, where he was responsible for German operations.

Eric Zarnikow has been named associate administrator for the Small Business Administration’s Office for Capital Access. He has spent the past three years in various executive roles at ServiceMaster Co., including as chief risk officer and treasurer. The office is responsible for management and oversight of SBA’s principal lending, international trade, surety bond and venture capital programs.
