? Edward Reilly has joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP as a partner and member of the firm’s technology interdisciplinary steering committee. He will work out of the firm’s New York office. Reilly hails from the venture capital practice of law firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP.

? Tony James has been named chairman of global investment banking and private equity at Credit Suisse First Boston. James, who was most recently the co-head of global investment banking and private equity at CSFB, will focus on investment banking strategy and senior client relationships. In addition, he also will oversee the firm’s private equity business. Charles Ward, who had served with James as co-head of global investment banking and private equity at CSFB, has decided to leave the firm to join Lazard Freres & Co.

? George McMillan will be appointed the new chief executive officer of CMGI Inc., effective March 1. Currently, McMillan serves as the company’s chief financial officer and treasurer. In connection with his promotion to CEO, McMillan also has been elected to CMGI’s board of directors.

? Matthew Hermann has joined Ascension Health Ventures LLC as director of strategic health venture investing. In that role, Hermann will lead the firm’s efforts to identify and fund innovative companies that will be beneficial to the health ministries of its parent, Ascension Health. Previously, Hermann served as vice president of Atlantic Medical Management LLC, a New York-based venture capital firm focused on health-care services and technology companies.

? Mike Grabiner has been named a director in the London office of Apax Partners. Most recently, Grabiner served as the chief executive of Energis.
