David Bonderman, a co-founder of TPG Capital, has been named to the board of directors at General Motors, which recently emerged from bankruptcy.

Mark Burton has agreed to join Evercore Partners as a senior managing director in the firm’s advisory unit. He previously was a vice chairman of Barclays Capital.

Samuel Ginn, former chairman of Vodafone Group,has joined Greenhill & Co. as a senior advisor.

Jeffrey Goldstein, a managing director with Hellman & Friedman, will be nominated to be the U.S. Treasury Department’s undersecretary for domestic finance.

Robert Grien has joined TM Capital as a managing director and head of the investment bank’s finance and restructuring advisory practice. He previously was a senior managing director and head of leveraged finance for Deerfield Capital Management.

Geoff Hill has agreed to join Roark Capital Partners as a vice president, effective January 1, 2010 . Hill is currently president of Cinnabon Inc., where he will remain throughout 2009 in order to help company president Gary Bales manage the transition. Cinnabon is part of Focus Brands, a Roark Capital portfolio company.

Quinton Jay was named a managing director of Bacchus Capital Management, a private equity and mezzanine firm focused on the wine industry. He previously was vice president and general manager of Artesa Winery and Vineyards.

Larry Kellner is stepping down as chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines, in order to join a new Houston-based real estate private equity firm called Emerald Creek Group. He had been with Continental for 14 years, and will be succeeded by COO Jeff Smisek.

Michael J. Kelly, the former president of AOL Media Networks, was named president and chief executive officer of The Weather Channel Cos., a portfolio company of Bain Capital and The Blackstone Group.

Rolan Lescure has been named chief investment officer of the Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, one of Canada’s biggest pension fund managers. He previously was CIO at France’s Groupama Asset Management.

Francis Lunger has joined Chicago-based buyout firm Linden LLC as an operating partner. He most recently served as CEO of Millipore Corp. (NYSE: MIL).

Fortress Investment Group (NYSE: FIG) named former Fannie Mae boss Daniel Mudd as its new CEO, succeeding firm co-founder Wesley Edens. Mudd currently serves on the Fortress board of directors.

Bob Nardelli has joined Cerberus Capital Management as an advisor, focused on portfolio company management and operations. He previously was installed by Cerberus as CEO of Chrysler, and before that ran Home Depot.

P. Jayendra Nayak has joined Advent International, as an operating partner focused on Indian investment opportunities. He is the former chairman and CEO of Axis Bank.

Paul Pressler has joined Clayton, Dubilier & Rice as an advisor. He previously was president and CEO of Gap Inc., and before that spent 15 years with The Walt Disney Company.

Milestone Partners has promoted Dan Ryan from associate to head of business development. He succeeds John Nowaczyk, who has been promoted to vice president and will focus on transaction execution and portfolio management.

Zhi Zhong Qiu has joined Barclays as its Greater China chairman. He previously was with ABN Amro.

Richard Shafer has been named interim chief investment officer of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), nearly two months after fulltime CIO Jenny Hom stepped down. Shafer joined OPERS in May, after having served as director of investments for the New Hampshire Retirement System and, before that, was chief investment officer of the Alaska Permanent Fund.

High Road Capital Partners has promoted both Ben Schnakenberg and Adi Blum to the position of vice president. Schnakenberg joined last year as an associate from LaSalle Bank, while Blum was with Citigroup Global Markets.

Keith Stock has joined TIAA-CREF as senior managing director and chief strategy office. He will report to asset management boss Scott Evans, and previously was president offered $725 million.

Roger Tauchman has joined financial consultancy Lake Pointe Partners as a director. He previously was a senior vice president with GE Capital.

Jason Wang has been named chief financial officer of AutoChina International Ltd., a commercial vehicle lease financing company in China. He previously was director ofresearch and analytics for Private Equity Management Group Inc.Monty York has joined GenNx360 Capital Partners as a managing partner. He previously was managing partner of SV Investment Partners, and before that was a principal with Aurora Capital Group.
