Joseph Lhota has joined Redwood Partners International, a firm that provides financial advise and venture money, as an advisor. Lhota is executive vice president of corporate administration for Cablevision Systems Corp. and former New York deputy mayor under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

James Niedel, has been named a venture partner for healthcare technology investments at the Sprout Group. The former chief science and technology officer for GlaxoSmithKline PLC, Niedel joined the New York-based Sprout Group on May 1.

Glen Bressner has joined GeoVueĂ­s board of directors. GeoVue is a location intellegence comapny. Bressner, currently vice president of the general partners at Mid-Atlantic Venture Funds (MAVF), has advised growing companies on expansion strategies for more than 15 years, including bothpublicly traded and privately held companies such as Digital Insight (NASDAQ: DGIN), and MicroE Systems.

Vicent Pluvinage has been appointed chief executive of ipValue Management Inc., an emerging intellectual property monetization and management company that serves large global companies. Pluvinage was a CEO-in-residence at Mobius Venture Capital and was CEO of Preview Systems, an enterprise software comany that provides large corporations with secure electronic distribution technology for copyrighted media and software products.

Robert Weltman, with Genstar Capital LP since 1995, has been promoted to a managing director. He was previously a principal with the firm. Weltman helps develop Genstar CapitalĂ­s life science investments. M. Scott Milius will also join Genstar Capital as a managing director at the end of June. Milius comes to Genstar Capital from Gryphon Investors.
