Frank Cirone has been promoted to president and chief executive of Comdisco Ventures. He replaces James Labe, who resigned amid growing speculation that Comdisco is looking to sell off its private equity portfolio.

John Hsin has joined Palo Alto, Calif.-based Crystal Internet Ventures as a principal in the firmís new Singapore office. Before joining Crystal, Hsin worked as a vice president of corporate development for a business-to-business online exchange in international trade.

Alan Kittner has joined Invesco Private Capital as a managing director, where he will concentrate on life sciences and medical investments. He was previously chief executive of OneBody Inc.

Leonard Licht has been named chairman of HgCapital, formerly known as Mercury Private Equity. He was previously vice chairman of Mercury Asset Management.

Robert Lipp has been appointed senior advisor to MMC Capital Inc., the private equity subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. Lipp, who is chairman of Travelers Property Casualty, will focus on investment activities in the insurance and other financial services fields. He recently stepped down from a variety of senior management positions with Citigroup.

Amy Vernetti has joined Technology Crossover Ventures as a general partner. She had previously specialized in human capital issues for Garage.com.

Larry Warnock has been named a partner with AV Labs, the accelerator affiliate of Austin Ventures. He was most recently vice president of product marketing for the e-commerce products group at Siebel Systems Inc.
