Robert Koehn has been promoted to director of Trivest Partners. Koehn joined the private equity firm in August 1999, formerly he served as a senior associate.

Hugh Rienhoff has joined Vanguard Ventures as a general partner. He will be responsible for expanding the firmís investment in biotechnology and health-care information sciences. Previously, Rienhoff was chief executive of DNA Sciences Inc., a genetics discovery company. Larry Schwerin, who has served as a partner of the firmís since last spring, was promoted to general partner. Schwerin will continue to focus on building pioneering companies in the communication and Internet infrastructure market.

Dana Siebert, a managing director of Oregon Life Sciences, has been named

Flatrockís executive advisor. Siebert will support the Extranet companyís strategic agreements.

Jerry Casilli has joined Rembrandt Venture Partners, a venture fund targeting early-stage, high-technology investments, as venture partner. Prior to joining Rembrandt, Casilli most recently served as chairman of IKOS Systems. At Rembrandt, Casilli will contribute to technology and investment evaluation as well as long-term mentoring of portfolio companies.

Investment manager Christian Schneider has been promoted to partner in German-based PolyTechnos Venture-Partners life sciences practice. Schneider joined PolyTechnos in January 2001 from Centocor, a Johnson & Johnson company, where he worked in both the diagnostic and the biopharmaceutical sides of the business.
