Nari Ansari and Kapil Venkatachalam have been promoted to vice presidents from senior associates at the venture capital and growth equity firm Technology Crossover Ventures. Ansari and Venkatachalam both joined Technology Crossover 2006. Ansari focuses on software, Internet and services investments. Venkatachalam focuses on the enterprise software, infrastructure and services markets. Technology Crossover is based in Palo Alto, Calif.

Ryan Caldbeck has been promoted by San Francisco-based Encore Consumer Capital to the post of director. Caldbeck joined the firm in 2007 and focuses on deal origination, portfolio management and transaction execution.

Michael Chae has been named head of private equity in Asia for The Blackstone Group. Chae, a senior managing director in Blackstone’s private equity group, will be based in Hong Kong and will manage limited partner relationships in the region. Chae joined Blackstone in 1997, and has led Blackstone’s investments in The Weather Channel Cos. and Hilton Hotels.

Chicago-based private equity firm Green Courte Partners has promoted Sirina Jimenez and Antonia Anagnostopoulos to the post of vice president, and promoted Jordan Kerger to senior associate. Jimenez joined the firm in 2006, and will focus on due diligence of Green Courte’s new investments. Anagnostopoulos and Kerger both joined the firm in 2008.

Elaine Harris has joined the supervisory board of investment and advisory group PEGG Capital. Harris is a partner at Gramercy Private Equity and Gramercy Venture Advisors. PEGG Capital is a Frankfurt-listed investment and advisory group specializing in investing in telecommunications

Peter Nachtwey has joined Legg Mason as chief financial officer and member of the firm’s executive committee. For the past three years, Nachtwey served as chief financial officer for The Carlyle Group. He previously spent more than 25 years in various positions at Deloitte and Touche. Baltimore-based Legg Mason has more than $668 billion in assets under management.

Switzerland-based Partners Group has promoted eight members of its investment team to the post of managing director. Andreas Baumann and Kelvin Chan work in the firm’s Singapore private equity offices. Juri Jenkner is based in London. Peter Nietzer is based in Munich. And Erik Gunnervall, Andreas Knecht, Robert Lustenberger and Philipp Schnyder work in the firm’s Zug headquarters. Entrepreneur JĂ¼rgen Diegruber and GermanCapital co-founder Armin Weiland join the firm as partners in its newly established Munich offices.

Morten Simonsen has joined PineBridge Investments as head of institutional sales for the Nordic region, overseeing sales and business development efforts across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Simonsen previously held a similar role at Alfred Berg.

Glenn Youngkin has been named interim chief financial officer of The Carlyle Group, following the resignation of Peter Nachtwey, Reuters reported. Youngkin is the chairman of Carlyle’s operating committee and serves on the firm’s executive committee. Nachtwey joined Carlyle in 2007 after working for Blackstone Group.

Luis Zaldivar has been promoted to managing director at New York-based Palladium Equity Partners. Zaldivar joined Palladium in 2004 and focuses on consumer, food and restaurant investments. Erik Scott has also been promoted to managing director. He joined the firm in 2005 and focuses on business and industrial services investments. Rafael Ortiz has been promoted to principal. Ortiz joined Palladium in 2006 and focuses on health care and industrial services.
