Tom Berger, Chris Risley and Jerry Baker have joined Bessemer Venture Partners. Berger and Risley will be operating partners based in Menlo Park, Calif. and Baker has been named special limited partner in Bessemer’s Larchmont, N.Y. office.Berger was previously chief executive of Octave Communications and president of Celcore, both portfolio companies of Bessemer Venture Partners. Risley is a former entrepreneur-in-residence at Bessemer and former chief executive of Bessemer-funded ON Technology. Baker’s experience includes Network Computer, where he was chief executive, and he served as Oracle‘s senior corporate vice president.

Matthew Warta was named Village Ventures‘ regional managing director. Warta will be based in Colorado and is the former vice president of corporate development and finance at cybercrop.com.

Michael Ondik joined Alterlayer Venture Services as general partner. Previously Ondik was a principal at The Alliance Group.

Eric W. Linsley has been named executive vice president of Asset Management at A.M. Pappas & Associates. He will also continue to serve as chief investment officer. He currently serves as a director for two A.M. Pappas & Associates portfolio companies: Panacos Pharmaceuticals and Signase.

Tal Lev and Zeljka Matutinovic have joined Jerusalem Venture Partners. Lev joins as a senior associate and Matutinovic as general partner; both will be based in Jerusalem Venture Partners’ New York office. Matutinovic previously worked for International Real Returns, where she was managing director. Most recently, Lev was a summer associate at Patricof & Co. Ventures.

James Sullivan has joined Seneca Financial Group Inc. as a managing director. Sullivan brings corporate and investment experience to the firm. Most recently, he was senior vice president at SN Phelps & Co.
