Justin Abelow has agreed to join Deutsche Bank Securities as a managing director in the firm’s financial sponsors group, focused on middle-market clients. He previously was with Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, as a managing director hearing up the firm’s East Coast private equity efforts.

Grant Allen has joined Core Capital Partners as an associate. He previously held positions at Liberty Associated Partners and Microsoft.

Arsenal Capital Partners has promoted John Televantos to principal. He is a veteran specialty chemicals industry executive who joined Arsenal in January 2006 as an executive vice president, after having served as vice president of Hercules Inc. and president of its Aqualon Company.

Joseph Blum has joined Global Infrastructure Partners as a partner and general council. He will remain based in London, where he previously was with Latham & Watkins as a partner.

Marc Cali has joined Signal Hill, a boutique investment bank based in Baltimore as vice president responsible for private placements and private investments in public equity. He previously was a vice president in the private finance and financial sponsors group of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company.

Liam Camburn has joined Rutland Partners as an associate. He previously worked in KPMG’s private equity transaction services group.

Richard Clemmer has joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. as a senior advisor. Clemmer most recently was CEO of semiconductor company Agere Systems.

Emporia Capital, the specialty asset management and lending subsidiary of Cohen & Co., has added three executive vice presidents in its leveraged loan asset management business. They are: Wade Winter, Jonathan David and Richard Barger. Each was previously a senior vice president for the broadly syndicated loans business of Jefferies Capital Management.

First Reserve Corp. has promoted Tim Day, Joe Bob Edwards and Hardy Murchison to managing director. Day joined the firm in 2000, and focuses on the downstream segment of the energy industry. Edwards joined in 1998, and focuses on the oilfield service and infrastructure sectors. Muchison has been with First Reserve since 2001, and focuses on the oil and gas reserve sectors.

Jaime Guzman-Fournier has joined StepStone Group (f.k.a. Leucadia Capital Partners) as a managing director. He previously was head of the SBIC program, where he oversaw 75 professionals and a $20 billion investment portfolio.

Harvest Partners has promoted Michael Cardito, Richard Moreau, Andrew Schoenthal and Christopher Whalen from vice presidents to principals. The firm also said that CFO Debra Kravetz has added the title of senior vice president.

Brad Henske has agreed to join Hellman & Friedman as a managing director in the firm’s San Francisco office. He previously was general manager of Intuit Corp.’s consumer tax group.

Stewart Homler has joined AIG Global Investment Group as managing director of alternative investments in Japan. He will be based in Tokyo, and previously was head of the Asia-Pacific private equity group at Deutsche Asset Management.

David Lyon has joined D.E. Shaw Group, as a member of its special situations/distressed private equity team. He previously was a managing director of The Cypress Group.

Alvaro de Molina, the former Bank of America CFO, has agreed to join Cerberus Capital Management. He will focus on the financial services sector.

Michael Nelson has joined the private equity group of Republic Financial as a senior associate. He previously was with Piper Jaffray.

Steve Nietupski has joined Alvarez & Marsal as a New York-based managing director in the firm’s transaction advisory group. He previously was with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transaction services practice.

Joseph O’Byrne has joined New England Pension Consultants as a private equity consultant. He previously was with Meketa Investment Group, as an associate principal focused on the private markets.

Glenn Pollner has joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice. He previously was with Dewey Ballantine.

William Price, co-founder of TPG, has joined the advisory board of Presidio Financial Partners, a San Francisco-based wealth management firm.

Stephen Schaible has joined Evercore Partners as a senior managing director in the firm’s advisory practice. He previously was with Citigroup as a managing director and head of global energy investment banking.

Joan Solatar has joined The Blackstone Group as senior managing director of public markets and director of equity research. She previously was with Bank of America.

John Spencer has joined Palisades Capital Advisors as a managing director, responsible for the firm’s restructuring advisory and pension liability risk management services. He previously was a director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.’s department of insurance supervision and compliance.

Transportation Resource Partners has promoted David Mitchell to managing director. He joined the firm in 2002 as a principal.

Avi Turetsky has joined The Riverside Company as assistant director for fundraising and investor relations. He previously was with Goldsmith Agio Helms.

Douglas Zingale has joined Foley Hoag as a partner in the firm’s corporate, M&A and private equity practices. He previously was with the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig.
