Nicole Arnaboldi has been named chairwoman of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, which will come in addition to her existing responsibilities as co-head of the group’s illiquid alternatives group. The move comes after chairman Steven Rattner announced his retirement.

Nick Ashmore has been named private equity portfolio manager for Ireland’s National Pensions Reserve Fund, according to Dow Jones. He has been with the group since 2006, after having been with Adams Street Partners. The position became available when Ronan Cunningham left to join General Atlantic.

John Bryson, former chairman and CEO of Edison International, has joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. as a senior advisor. He will focus on global infrastructure opportunities.

John Canning, chairman and co-founder of Madison Dearborn Capital Partners, has joined the board of Midwestern utility Exelon.

Jamie Ebersole has joined SL Capital Partners as senior investment director for North America. He will be based in Boston, and previously ran the New York office of Allianz Private Equity Partners.

Golub Capital has promoted both Gregory Cashman and Andrew Steuerman to the position of senior managing director.

Kate Goodall has joined the investor relations team of SVG Capital. She previously was a vice president with Capital Dynamics and, last year, founded the Private Equity Investor Relations Association.

Jonathan Heathcote has joined Palamon Capital Partners as a partner. He previously spent the past nine years with European Acquisition Capital.

Investec Investment Bank and Securities has made two hires: Gareth Taylor, formerly with Deloitte, as a director who will lead the firm’s coverage of private equity clients; and Matthew Wesley, previously with Lazard, as an associate director on the firm’s Debt Advisory team.

Glyn Jones has been named chairman of UK pension fund manager Hermes. He previously was CEO of Thames River Capital and Gartmore Investment Management.

Morid Kamshad has joined Duff Capital Advisors to lead a newly-formed financial services investment team. He previously was a portfolio manager with Pequot Capital Management. Also joining the team is Montserrat Farina, who previously was an I-banking associate within the financial institutions group of JPMorgan.

Andrew Leek and Clara Chen have joined Inflexion Private Equity as an assistant director and investment executive, respectively. Leek has previously worked with Alchemy Partners and SaatchInvest, while Chen was previously was Marakon Strategy Consultants. The firm has also promoted Tim Smallbone to partner, and both Christian Hamilton and Catherine Richards to investment director.

Mike O’Neill has joined Hudson Clean Energy Partners to help launch Element Power, a new portfolio company that will focus on utility-scale win and solar power generation. O’Neill is the former commercial director of Renewable Energy Systems Group.

Patrick O’Neill has joined Avista Capital Partners as a healthcare industry advisor. He worked in various roles at Johnson & Johnson between 1976 and 2006.

P.J. Nachman has joined the private equity team of Angelo Gordon & Co., where he will focus on special situations opportunities. He previously was a vice president with Marlin Equity Partners.

Jose Rivero has joined Symphony Technology Group as a managing director and operating partner. He previously was with Accenture, as global managing director of the firm’s Custom Business Process Outsourcing Services division.

Resilience Capital Partners of Cleveland has made four hires: Michael Lundin, former president and CEO of Oglebay Norton Co., as an operating partner; Michael Merriman, former CEO of Lamson & Sessions, as an operating partner; David Blank, formerly of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, as an investment associate; and Ziv Sarag, former CFO of TOA Technologies, as chief operating officer.

James Sharwarko has joined Lake Pointe Partners as a partner. He previously has consulted for private equity sponsors like Allied Capital, Code, Hennessy & Simmons, Harbour Group and Kirtland Capital.

Garry Stein has joined Apollo Management as director of investor relations. It is a new position for Apollo. He previously served in a similar role for NYSE Euronext.

Trivest Partners has made three hires: Todd Jerles as a vice president, David Briedis as an associate and Alex Acosta as an analyst.

Garrett Van Wagoner is stepping down as manager of Van Wagoner Emerging Growth, according to the Wall Street Journal.
