Hermes Private Equity has made five new appointments across both the direct investments and funds areas. Three executives join the direct investment team – Steve Bonnard from Deloitte Corporate Finance, Robin Lawson from LEK and Tim Thomas from RJD Partners. Their appointments bring the team total to nine. Susan Flynn is joining as head of the Funds team in September. She is currently at Coller Capital. In addition the team has recently recruited Khim Tan from GIC.

White & Case has announced the appointment of partner Clare Calver and counsel, Massimo Galli to the Firm’s London Banking & Capital Markets Group. Calver will initially be based in London before relocating to White & Case’s Paris office. Counsel Massimo Galli, who will focus on banking and leveraged finance matters, has spent two years in the Italian market and will complement the Firm’s existing local Italian capabilities through his on-the-ground presence in London.

Rutland Partners, the UK private equity partnership, announces that Liam Camburn has joined the investment team. Camburn qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen following which he joined their Private Equity Transaction Services team. This team ultimately transferred into KPMG.

Lovells has recruited Eversheds Partner Pascal de Moidrey to join its Paris private equity practice. Pascal, who is currently head of Eversheds’ corporate department in Paris, will join Lovells in August. De Moidrey specialises in private equity transactions, acting for institutional investors and portfolio companies. He trained at Moquet Borde & Associés and then moved to Gide Loyrette Nouel. He left Gide in 1997 to become one of the founding partners of Latournerie Wolfrom & Associés, where he helped to create the corporate team. He left Latournerie in 2003 to head up Eversheds’ corporate department in Paris. Pascal has over 10 years of experience in the private equity market working for mezzanine funds such as Capzanine as well as other private equity players such as BBS Capital, BNP Paribas, CIC, CréAdev, Credit Lyonnais Private Equity and IDI. Edith Boucaya who has spent her entire career at Eversheds and also specialises in private equity work will accompany Pascal and joins Lovells as Counsel.

DN Capital, the pan-European venture capital firm, is pleased to announce that Pierre Suhrcke has joined the firm as a Managing Partner. Suhrcke will focus on financial service technology companies and development capital deals at DN Capital as well as provide coverage for the German speaking countries. He was formerly the European Partner for ABS Ventures, the spin out of Deutsche Bank’s venture business.

Linklaters has elected banking partner, Brian Gray, to join the firm’s London banking practice. Gray specialises in leveraged and acquisition financing, with particular experience in public to privates, infrastructure transactions, securitisation bridges, opco-propco, consortium LBOs and regulated industries such as water and life insurance. He joins Linklaters from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he has been a partner since 2002.
