  • Legal & General Ventures (LGV) is expanding its investment team with the appointment of Euan O’Sullivan as an Associate. O’Sullivan joins LGV from Close Brothers Corporate Finance where he advised on a number of company disposals as well as public company and private equity buy-side deals. Transaction experience included the capital reorganisation of construction services business John Doyle Group, the IPO of restaurant chain Carluccio’s.
  • BNP Paribas is reshuffling its European debt syndicate desk. This includes Youssef Khlat and Alain Dib becoming joint heads of European high-yield capital markets. In addition, Khlat will become deputy head of leveraged finance Europe, reporting to Jean Bergeret, and will run the leveraged finance business in London.
  • Deutsche Bank has appointed Diane Raposio as a managing director in leveraged finance. She will report to William Maltby, head of financial sponsors and leveraged finance. In her new role, Raposio will focus primarily on sponsor clients. Based in London, she joins the bank in early June. Raposio moved to London from Sydney in 1999, and worked first with UBS Warburg and subsequently Barclays. Pietro Raguso also joins the team as vice-president. Raguso joins from JPMorgan’s leveraged finance team at the end of April. At JPM he worked on some of the largest Italian leveraged buy-outs including Avio, Galbani, Pirelli Cables, Saeco and FL Selenia.
  • The management board of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt has appointed Florian Fautz as head of its corporate finance business and a member of the bank’s executive board with effect from October 1. Until that date, Fautz remains in his current position as co-head of mergers and acquisitions at Dresdner Kleinwort. Before joining Dresdner Kleinwort, Fautz was co-head of the international M&A business at the Frankfurt headquarters of BHF-BANK. He was with BHF-BANK in Frankfurt, Singapore and London for more than 10 years.
  • CBCM has also announced three new senior appointments to its leveraged finance team. Marianela Gutierrez-Portillo has joined the team as a senior director, and is based in London. In her new role she is primarily responsible for origination and execution of financial sponsor driven transactions in the Spanish and Italian regions. Gutierrez-Portillo has joined from ING Madrid. David Ryba has joined the team as director with responsibility for the CEE region and the telecommunications sector. Andrea Clerici has joined the team as a leveraged finance associate, based in London. He joined from Commerzbank’s Milan branch.
