James Kirby joined Soros Fund Management. He previously served as a managing director with Madison Dearborn Capital Partners.

Tim Nickel has joined the Menlo Park, Calif.-based office of Spectrum Equity Investors as an associate. He most recently served as an analyst in Lehman Brothersí financial sponsors group.

Hugh Reinhoff has left his general partner position with Vanguard Ventures. Reinhoff joined Vanguard in July 2002, after having founded DNA Sciences Inc. and previously serving in senior investment positions with Abingworth Management and New Enterprise Associates.

Morton Bro Nielsen joined CapMan as an investment director of the Finland-based firmís life sciences investing team. He will focus on medical technology investments in Denmark.

Pierre Lamond, a partner at Sequoia Capital, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Sequoia portfolio company Tera Systems Inc.
