TCBY Yogurt and Mrs. Fields Cookies’ parent company Famous Brands International has hired David Bloom as senior vice president of strategic development. Previously, Bloom worked at Hurricane Grill & Wings where he served as chief development officer. Also, the company has promoted Dustin Finkel to vice president of marketing, Belinda Oakley to vice president of operations and Cassie Alvey to vice president of Mrs. Fields Gifting. Famous Brands is a portfolio company of Z Capital Partners.

FirstLight Fiber (formerly named Tech Valley Communications), a portfolio company of Riverside Partners, has named Kurt Van Wagenen as president and CEO. He will also join FirstLight’s board. Wagenen is succeeding Kevin O’Connor, co-founder and current CEO, who is retiring but will transition to strategic adviser to the board. Based in Albany, New York, FirstLight Fiber is a a provider of telecommunication services operating fiber networks in upstate New York and Northern New England.

LHP Hospital Group, which is backed by CCMP Capital Advisors, has appointed John F. Holland as CEO. Holland joins LHP from Tenet Healthcare Corp, where he was most recently senior vice president of hospital operations. Also, Dan Moen has been promoted to executive chairman of LHP’s board of directors while James D. Shelton, the current chairman of the board, will continue serving as lead director. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, LHP is a provider of capital and services for not-for-profit hospitals and hospital systems.

Micross Components, a portfolio company of Insight Equity, said its CEO, Alan Taylor, will retire this year. Richard Kingdon has been named to succeed Taylor. Previously, Kingdon worked at Atwood Mobile Products, where he served as executive vice president. Micross Components is a provider of specialty electronic components.

NFP, a portfolio company of Madison Dearborn Partners, has named Dennis Chookaszian to the board of managers of Patriot Investment Holdings, NFP’s parent company. Chookaszian is the former chairman and CEO of CNA Insurance Cos. NFP is a provider of benefits, insurance and wealth management services.

Physicians Interactive Holdings is expanding its board of directors with the addition of John de Souza. The CEO and founder of MedHelp, de Souza previously worked at Goldman Sachs where he served as a vice president and managed the technology practice of the firm’s private equity group. Headquartered in Reading, Mass., PI is a provider of clinical resources for the healthcare industry. It is backed by the Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, a growth capital organization that invests in healthcare breakthroughs.

Toronto-based mid-market private equity firm Signal Hill Equity Partners has named Roy A. Sutterfield as CEO of portfolio company Romet Ltd. Prior to joining Romet, Sutterfield served as president of Elster’s North American gas businesses. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Romet is a manufacturer of rotary gas meters for the gas utilities industry.

Scivantage, a New Jersey-based financial technology provider that is backed by Brown Brothers Harriman Capital Partners, has named Jim Tousignant as executive vice president of sales and business development. Previously, Tousignant was co-founder and president of Multex.

IACP Foundation, a nonprofit that provides support to injured and fallen law enforcement officers and their families, has named Jonathan Huberman, president and CEO of Tiburon, to its board of directors. A provider of public safety software solutions, Tiburon is backed by The Gores Group.
