He also worked at IBM where he was the founder and first manager of the IBM microelectronics division in Israel. Kirshner was formerly an application engineer in Motorola Semiconductor specialising in communications processors and real time embedded systems. He started his career as an algorithms developer and R&D manager in CAD/CAM companies such as Tecnomatix (TCNX) and others.
