Anand Balasubrahmanyan, the former Carlyle Group Southeast Asia head, has joined CIMB Group Holdings, where he will have responsibility for the Malaysian bank’s private equity products, Reuters reported. The hiring comes as CIMB is expanding its investment banking business after buying some Asian operations of British lender Royal Bank of Scotland earlier this year.

Compass Diversified Holdings has announced that Alan Offenberg, who has served as interim CEO since February 17, 2011, has been elected by the company’s board as CEO, and will remain on the company’s board of directors. Compass Diversified Holdings owns and manages a portfolio of North American mid-market companies.

Comvest Partners has appointed Tom Clark as a managing director focused on Comvest’s control equity strategy. Prior to joining Comvest, Clark was a principal on the retail and consumer team at Apax Partners.

Linsalata Capital Partners has added Brian Redpath as managing director and Mike Anderson as vice president at the firm. This summer, the firm raised $427 million for its seventh buyout fund, Linsalata Capital Partners Fund VI LP, exceeding the fund’s $425 million target.

Quay Partners has appointed Angus Whiteley as group CEO, based in London. Whiteley comes from a private equity direct investment background. He is a law graduate of Cambridge University. Quay Partners is an independent private equity and infrastructure manager and adviser with offices in London, Sydney, San Francisco and Boston.

Daniel Rubin has joined Rosen Partners as managing director and head of private equity. He was previously senior vice president at CW Capital.

Chicago-based Z Capital Partners has named William Monagle a managing director. Monagle has worked as a consultant to Z Capital since early this year. In his new role, he will be responsible for operational and accounting due diligence for portfolio companies, board representation of portfolio companies, and internal infrastructure, the firm said. Monagle formerly was a partner and senior strategist at NEPC, an independent investment consulting firm.
