British buyout firm 3i Group plc, which is carrying out a major restructuring, confirmed that David Whileman, the head of its UK private equity operation, has left and that his counterpart in the Nordic region, Tomas Ekman, plans to leave soon, Reuters reported.

Healthcare-focused, mid-market buyout firm Ampersand Capital Partners has appointed Cecil Kost as an operating partner. Kost will work with the Ampersand investment team to identify and evaluate new platform opportunities as well as assist on the existing portfolio. Most recently Kost served as president and CEO of Precision Dynamics Corp, a maker of patient identification systems.

Ken Glass, chairman and founder of the TECT family of businesses and Stony Point Group, has launched a new investment and management company, Cold Mountain Capital. The company will be headquartered in Asheville, N.C., and led by aerospace and private equity veteran David Nolletti.

Jordan Robinson has joined the Short Hills, New Jersey, office of Energy Capital Partners as managing director to head up a four-person investor relations department. Robinson previously was managing director and head of business development for J.C. Flowers & Co., the New York private equity shop specializing in financial services.

Fusion AI Partners has named Keith Fenwick as chairman of its advisory board. With offices in London and Vienna, Virginia, Fusion AI is a private equity firm that offers hands-on management expertise in technology products and services companies.

GAMCO Investors has hired Kevin V. Dreyer and Christopher J. Marangi to join investment team of its subsidiary, the Gabelli Equity Trust, effective July 1. Also, Zahid Siddique, who is currently associate portfolio manager at Gabelli Equity Trust, will be moving to Dubai, where he will launch his own firm. Based in Rye, New York, the Gabelli Equity Trust is an investment company.

James T. Hackett has joined energy focused buyout shop Riverstone Holdings LLC as a partner. He will also co-head its Houston office. Prior to joining Riverstone, Hackett was CEO of Anadarko Petroleum Co.

Kevin Klausmeyer has joined Dallas-based Teakwood Capital as an executive partner. Klausmeyer was formerly the CFO of The Planet, RLX Technologies and PentaSafe Security.
