Angelo Gordon & Co has hired an energy team to be based in Houston, Texas, led by Todd Dittmann. Other executives on the team include managing directors Damon Putman and David Taylor, and associate Paul Gottheim. The team will focus on a credit-oriented approach to investing in the energy sector.

Chicago-based private equity firm Arbor Investments has named John M. Camp as managing director of corporate development. The appointment became effective October 1, 2013. Previously, Camp worked at Southfield Capital, also in development.

The Carlyle Group has appointed Kewsong Lee as deputy chief investment officer for corporate private equity. Lee joins from Warburg Pincus, where he was managing director and member of the executive management group

Centurion Resource Group has hired Bernard Guarnera as a partner. Previously, Guarnera joined Behre Dolbear Group as a CEO and currently serves as its chairman. Centurion Resource Group is a private equity fund manager focused on the global mining sector.

Digital Capital AG has hired Patrick Sweeney as its chief legal officer. Sweeney has more than 15 years of experience in negotiating license and development agreements. Based in Switzerland, Digital Capital is a private equity investor in digital entertainment apps and games.

Private equity firm Grain Management has named former U.S. ambassador to the European Union William E. Kennard as a senior adviser in the firm’s new Washington, D.C., office. In this position, Kennard will focus on investment opportunities in the telecom sector. Prior to serving as ambassador, Kennard worked at The Carlyle Group where he served as a global partner and managing director. Before that, he was the chairman of the FCC.

Macquarie Capital has hired Rob Lester as a managing director in its real estate group in New York, where he will be responsible for originating and executing real estate transactions. Lester was previously a managing principal in Park Hill Group’s real estate team.

Pharos Capital Group has appointed Brett Jackson as a senior financial analyst in the firm’s Nashville office. Previously, he worked at the Little Rock, Arkansas-based Stephens Inc, where he served as an investment banking analyst. Pharos is a private equity firm based in Dallas and Nashville.

Silver Lake has re-hired Mark Gillett, departing corporate vice president for Skype and Lync at Microsoft, as managing director and head of value creation. Gillett will succeed Charles Giancarlo, current head of value creation and a senior technology industry executive. Giancarlo plans to stay with Silver Lake through the end of the year and then to transition into an advisory role.

Investment firm Weld North has named Adam J. Klaber as managing director. Previously, he worked as a managing partner for IBM Global Business Services.
