PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed Neil Sutton as the new UK head of corporate finance. Sutton, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP since 1993, most recently led the consumer sector focus in the UK. In the last four years, he has almost quadrupled the size of this business, completing £1.7bn of deals in 2005 compared with £480m in 2002. He will be leading a business that has overtaken investment banks as the top deal adviser by volume and value to the UK market (deals of $50m-$500m).

In recent years, Sutton has specialised in significant corporate disposals for private individuals, including McLelland & Sons on its sale to Lactalis and advising Deb/Swarfega on its sale to Barclays Private Equity for £135m.

Sutton has a strong understanding of the food industry and is a member of the Royal Agricultural College’s 100 Club.
