RA Capital, a life sciences private equity firm based in Boston, has raised $86.25 million from 35 investors, according to a regulatory filing. The firm is run by Richard Aldrich, the co-founder of Altus Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ALTU), Sirtris Pharmaceuticals and Magen Biosciences. He is joined by Portfolio Manager Peter Kolchinsky and Rajeev Shah, who will evaluate new investments.
