Ralph Jaeger, Siguler Guff emerging-markets specialist, leaves firm

  • Jaeger worked on the firm’s emerging markets funds
  • Sean MacDonald promoted to director of emerging markets
  • Secondaries chief Tony Cusano also recently left firm

Ralph Jaeger, a managing director and portfolio manager for emerging markets multimanager funds at Siguler Guff, has left the firm.

Jaeger left at the end of March for personal reasons, Kathryn Kantarian, spokeswoman for Siguler Guff, confirmed for Buyouts via email. Jaeger did not respond to an emailed request for comment.

“All of us at Siguler Guff appreciate Ralph’s dedication to our emerging markets investment strategy during his seven-year tenure with the firm,” Kantarian wrote.

Managing Director Drew Guff took over as portfolio manager of Siguler Guff’s emerging markets funds and separate accounts, Kantarian wrote. Guff had already been overseeing the firm’s emerging markets investment strategy, she said.

In addition, Sean MacDonald, who joined Siguler Guff in 2011, was promoted to managing director and director of emerging markets investments, Kantarian said.

Jaeger joined Siguler Guff in 2012, prior to which he worked at Cambridge Associates. Jaeger was portfolio manager for the firm’s emerging markets multimanager funds and separate accounts, an archived version of Siguler Guff’s website shows.

In 2014, he succeeded Patricia Dinneen as portfolio manager focusing on investments in Brazil, Russia, India, China and certain frontier markets, PE HUB reported.

He also was a member of the investment committee for the firm’s BRIC Opportunities Funds, the website said.

Jaeger’s resignation came around the same time the firm’s secondaries investment chief, Tony Cusano, left. Cusano left in March after over eight years at the firm, according to Secondaries Investor.
