Ready2invest expands

ready2invest, a programme aimed at recruiting and supporting angel investors to help innovative entrepreneurs, has expanded to the South East with the support of FSE (Finance South East) and SEEDA (South East England Development Agency.) It follows the successful launch in London last year of ready2invest by London Business Angels, supported by the London Development Agency. ready2invest South East is targeting new or would-be investors in unquoted companies or those simply looking to refresh their knowledge. The programme provides individuals with the necessary skills and information through a workshop that incorporates direct experience from investors and entities such as the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). ready2invest is aimed at angel investors with an entrepreneurial background and a strong interest in helping to build, support, mentor and invest in innovative young companies. Typically this means individuals with high net worth or high earnings and who are willing to invest at least £25,000 per annum in angel transactions as well as those already making private investments and who wish to access further investment opportunities Sally Goodsell, CEO of FSE, said: “ready2invest South East is a comprehensive, structured programme that contains everything that a business angel needs to become an even more successful investor. Typically angel investment opportunities can vary, both in terms of the risk and payback. By providing investors with the tools and information needed to address both, such as direct experience from seasoned investors and an understanding of vital topics and issues, the chances of success are greatly improved.” To find out more about the ready2invest South East programme, those interested are invited to attend an awareness event free of charge. The first awareness event is scheduled for September 15 at Camberley Heath Golf Club in Surrey. Participants may then register for the ready2invest programme at a cost of £50 (plus VAT).
