Senior Lazard fundraiser Rudgers leaves firm

  • Rudgers joined Lazard in 2008
  • Formerly worked at Lehman, Wachovia Securities
  • Unclear why he left the bank

Daniel Rudgers, a managing director in Lazard’s private capital advisory group, left the firm, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

Rudgers left quietly around the first quarter, one of the people said. It’s unclear why he left and whether Lazard directly replaced him.

Rudgers was known to have “strong investor relationships” in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic U.S. as well as Eastern Canada, according to a placement agent disclosure report for North Carolina’s Treasurer in 2011.

He had joined the bank in June 2008 and was a managing director in PE fundraising.

Prior to Lazard, Rudgers was a director at Lehman Brothers from 2005 to 2008 and a director at Wachovia Securities from 2003 to 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He was a managing director at Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank from 1990 to 2003.
