Asset management firm Baird has added Adam M. Lefkowitz as a director to the firm’s real estate investment banking team. He will work in Baird’s McLean, Va., office. Prior to joining Baird, Lefkowitz was a senior vice president in the real estate investment banking group at FBR & Co.
UK-based accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has launched its debt advisory practice with the appointment of Ross McDonald as head of debt advisory. McDonald will be focused on developing the debt advisory business, through working with private equity owned, private and listed companies on accessing public and private debt capital markets.
Steve Beck and Jamie Frommelt have joined investment bank Craig-Hallum Capital Group as managing directors and co-heads of mergers and acquisitions. Both were recently at Lazard Middle Market and its predecessor Goldsmith Agio Helms. Beck was a managing director and co-head of Lazard Middle Market’s industrial group. Frommelt was also a managing director and co-head of Lazard Middle Market’s consumer group.
Search firm Hudson Gate Partners has added Katherine Kirk as a senior associate. Kirk joins Hudson Gate Partners after working most recently as an human relations associate/recruiter at Apax Partners. She will be based at the firm’s New York office.
Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Andrew Clark as head of private clients and charities. Clark has 17 years’ experience in the wealth management sector and will join Jupiter in December from Schroders, where he has worked as head of business development for the private banking division since April 2010.
New York-based Kapitall Inc., developer of an online investing platform, has named Jarrett Lilien chairman and chief executive officer. Lilien is the former president and COO of E*Trade Financial. Founded in 2009, Kapitall provides a platform combining a graphic user interface with cloud-based tools to help users research companies, build portfolios and share ideas.
Mid-market investment bank Lincoln International has opened an office in São Paulo, Brazil, the company announced. James Sinclair, formerly the managing partner of CFS Partners, a mergers and acquisition boutique based in São Paulo, has been appointed managing director and will lead the new office, the firm said in a press release.
Standish Management, a boutique provider of consulting services to managers of private equity, venture capital, fund of funds, foundations and endowments has appointed Robyn Weiss to its Santa Monica office as an engagement director. Weiss will focus on client management and business development for Standish’s southern California business.
