Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. has made additions to its investment banking team. The new hires are Brian D. Dora and Mark J. Nadaud, both of whom will join BGL’s Cleveland office as senior analysts. Also joining the same office as analysts are Connor T. Greenlees and Maxwell A. Halsted. And at BGL’s Chicago office, John A. Saulitis will step in as senior analyst while Andrew J. Goldfein joins BGL’s healthcare transactions finance group as an analyst.

Investment bank Evercore Partners has appointed Scott Kamran as a senior managing director in its technology group. Kamran, most recently a managing director and co-head of global software investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will be based in Evercore’s office in the Bay Area and will focus on advising companies in the software sector, as well as in the broader technology industry.

Sumeet Shah is joining Gist Digital as director of client relationships. Shah spent five years at Gotham Consulting Partners, a private equity consulting firm, where he ran business development and marketing.

Janney Capital Markets has named Paul Knight as managing director and senior analyst for the life sciences technology sector. Also, Janney has hired Michael Gorman as director and senior analyst covering the REIT sector and Michael Guyre as director and senior analyst of forensic accounting. Janney Capital Markets is a division of Janney Montgomery Scott, a Philadelphia-based financial services firm.

Leveraged debt advisory firm Marlborough Partners has appointed Markus Ehrler as a partner, with responsibility for overseeing and expanding Marlborough’s business in Germany and its neighbouring countries. Formerly a director in 3i’s banking team, Ehrler will be based in Frankfurt, where Marlborough is opening its first office outside the UK as the firm’s business expands.

McCarter & English LLP has named David L. Woronov as a partner at the law firm’s corporate, securities and financial institutions practice in Boston. In his new position, Woronov will focus on private equity and M&A transactions.

UK-based Odgers Berndtson has appointed Simon Havers to head its new practice dedicated to the private equity sector. Havers joins the City-based executive recruiting firm from Baird Capital Partners Europe Ltd where he was chief executive. He has also previously held the chairmanship of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.

Investment bank Woodbridge International has opened a Tokyo office. The new Tokyo office is led up by senior M&A advisers Rike Wootten and Ken Hashimoto, who will focus on serving Woodbridge clients in Japan.
