Babson Capital Finance, a subsidiary of investment firm Babson Capital Management, has expanded its management team with two new additions. The company has named Eric Lloyd, former head of market and institutional risk for Wells Fargo, as head of capital markets. Also, Terry Harris, former managing partner and co-founder of Certus Capital Partners, now heads portfolio management.

Business Capital has hired Michael Foley as a senior underwriter and analyst. Prior to joining Business Capital, Foley worked at Silicon Valley Bank based in the Boston area, specializing in the technology, life science, venture capital, private equity and premium wine sectors. Business Capital is a commercial finance and debt restructuring firm.

Capstone Financial Group has named Steve Lee as a senior vice president. Lee formerly was vice president and regional manager at BancWest Investment Services. In his new role, Lee is responsible for the recruitment, coaching and development of Capstone’s financial advisers. Capstone is an investment and merchant banking group.

Investment bank Evercore has hired Fernando Soriano as a senior managing director to lead the firm’s cross-border advisory services in Latin America. Previously, Soriano worked at BNP Paribas where he served as a managing director and head of corporate finance Mexico. He is also the former head of Latin America and Spain investment banking at Hill Street Capital.

Evercore Wealth Management, a subsidiary of investment bank Evercore, has named Tom Trenchard as a vice president and financial adviser. Previously, Trenchard worked as a lead adviser at U.S. Trust. Evercore Wealth Management serves high-net worth individuals, families and related institutions.

National investment consulting firm LCG Associates has named Catharine C. Burkett as vice president, director of private investments. In this newly created position, Burkett, who is based in the firm’s Atlanta headquarters, will be responsible for private investments research as well as due diligence and collaborating with clients to implement their private investment allocations. Burkett previously was a founding co-director of alternative investments for the Employee’s Retirement Systems of the State of Georgia.

Ike Suri, co-president and chief financial officer of executive recruiter Options Group International, has resigned from the firm to launch a merchant bank, Pelican Point Capital Partners. Also, Gene Shen, managing partner, is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.

Law firm Patton Boggs has built a public finance practice and enhanced its private fund investment and infrastructure transactions capabilities with the addition of four attorneys. The firm has hired three lawyers in New York — Alphonso Tindall Jr., Sani Williams and Deborah Hartmann Henry — and one in Washington, D.C. — Alethia Nancoo.

Global law firm Proskauer has expanded its private investment funds group with the addition of Lynn Chan as a consultant resident in the Hong Kong office. Prior to joining the firm, Chan worked at O’Melveny & Myers where she served as counsel in their investment funds practice and worked in the Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
