Law firm Addleshaw Goddard has appointed private equity specialist Andrew Johnston as part of the firm’s strategy of investing in new relevant service lines in growth areas beyond the firm’s established core offering in Dubai of international arbitration and construction litigation. Johnston has been based in Dubai since 2007, relocating from London as a senior associate with Clifford Chance and more recently as a partner with K&L Gates as head of private equity for the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Financial advisory firm Altium has hired Christopher Jones as a managing director in its London office. Jones joins from Livingstone Partners, where he led the consumer sector team.

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Susan Walker as a senior director within the M&A team based in London. Walker has specialist experience in corporate advisory and capital markets and will help to enhance and develop this side of the M&A practice.

Sidley Austin has appointed Ram Burshtine to the firm’s New York office as a partner in the global finance practice. Burshtine brings experience in representing financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

Woodbridge International has expanded its team in São Paulo, Brazil with the addition of four investment bankers. Joining Woodbridge’s Brazil office as senior M&A advisers are Rafael Mastrocola, Joao Belotti, Ricardo Belotti and Pedro Belotti. Headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, Woodbridge International is an M&A firm.
