Investment firm Clearbrook Global Advisors has named Thomas E. Deegan as managing director. Deegan will be based in Clearbook’s New York office. Prior to joining the firm, Deegan was at Stamford Policemen’s Pension Fund.
Investment bank Evercore Partners has named J. Stuart Francis as a senior managing director in its technology group. Francis will join the firm in August and be based in Evercore’s office in Menlo Park, California. Most recently, he served as vice chairman of investment banking and chairman of the global technology group for Barclays.
Paul Clausing has joined Hunting Dog Capital as a senior professional. Clausing previously held a senior financial operating role at Velti, a mobile marketing software company. Hunting Dog Capital is a senior secured lender.
Mid-market lender Maranon Capital has appointed Darin Schmalz as a principal. Most recently, he was a director at Fitch Ratings with responsibility for the firm’s U.S. private rating business as well as commentary and research on the leveraged loan and high yield markets. At Maranon, he will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities as well as transaction execution and portfolio management with a focus on Maranon’s senior debt and unitranche strategies.
Monroe Capital has appointed Lee Stern to the firm as managing director in its New York office. Prior to Monroe Capital, Stern was a managing director at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, responsible for expanding the firm’s credit strategies platform.
