Investment bank Baird has re-hired Terry Maxwell as a director of corporate development and strategic investment. Maxwell was previously at Baird for 20 years. He will be based in the Chicago office and will also serve on Baird’s executive committee.

Investment bank Brookfield Financial has hired Dan McNulty as a partner. Previously, McNulty worked at Rockwood Real Estate Advisers, where he served as president. He was also co-head of business development at Auction.com.

Calvert Investments said Barbara Krumsiek will step down as president and CEO, effective Dec. 31. Krumsiek will remain as chairwoman of the board of directors. Bill Lester, executive vice president of Ameritas Holding Company, the parent company of Calvert Investments, will lead the search for a new CEO. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Calvert Investments offers a range of equity, bond and asset allocation strategies using sustainability as a platform to create value.

Placement agent Capstone Partners has opened an office in New York. The office will be led by Michael Keaveney, who joined Capstone in January. Keaveney will be focus primarily on Northeast distribution and also will be involved in business development. Keaveney previously worked at Mercury Capital Advisors, Atlantic-Pacific Capital and Performance Equity Management.

Dorsey & White has hired Scott Desmond as a partner in the technology commerce practice of the corporate group in the firm’s New York office. Desmond will represent domestic and international companies in a range of corporate, financing and commercial transactions. Desmond was most recently a partner and of counsel at Greenberg Traurig. 

Dallas-based financial services firm Esposito Securities has added Spencer Han to its investment banking team. Previously, Han worked at Prudential Capital Group, where he served as a director in the Dallas corporate finance group.

Placement agent FIRSTavenue has promoted Stephen Hines to president of FAP USA. Hines is based in New York and will oversee the daily operations of the U.S. office, as well as lead client origination efforts. Prior to joining FIRSTavenue, Hines worked at Madison Williams, where he was a managing director responsible for business development. He was also a partner at C.P. Eaton.

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has hired Stewart Kagan as a partner in its financial practice. Kagan represents corporations, private equity firms, hedge funds and other financial institutions in debt financings and private equity deals. He focuses on leveraged finance, including bank financings, high-yield debt offerings and bankruptcy-related transactions.

Jefferies LoanCore has hired Dan Bennett to head capital markets. He will be based in the firm’s Greenwich, Connecticut, office. Previously, Bennett worked at Goldman Sachs, where he served most recently as managing director and head of the REFG capital markets desk.

Macquarie Capital has hired David Banmiller as a managing director in its U.S. oil and gas group in Houston. Previously, Banmiller worked at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he served as a senior member of the company’s U.S. energy practice. Macquarie Capital is the corporate advisory and capital markets arm of Macquarie Group.

Financial services firm Perella Weinberg Partners has named Robert K. Steel as CEO. His appointment becomes effective July 7. Joseph Perella will continue as chairman, while co-founders Terry Meguid and Peter Weinberg will remain as co-head of asset management and head of advisory, respectively. Recently, Steel served as deputy mayor for economic development under former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Prudential Financial Inc has hired Mark Finkelstein as a senior vice president, who will take over the role of head of investor relations later this year. Finkelstein will succeed Eric Durant as head of IR after a transition process. Finkelstein joins Prudential from Evercore Partners, where he worked most recently as managing director and senior analyst covering publicly traded life insurance companies.
