International law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has added three energy industry partners to its transactions practice across its London and Houston offices. John C. LaMaster and Marc Hammerson have joined the firm in London, and Steven Otillar has joined the firm in Houston. All three partners focus on cross-border energy transactions.

AltResources, a provider of fund administration services for private equity firms, has named Joseph Daly to the post of compliance director. Daly has worked in senior finance roles at Bank of New York and, later, Morgan Stanley Fund Services, where he was the global director of accounting.

Berenson & Co., an independent merchant banking firm, announced that Jeffrey Sechrest will join as president. Sechrest comes to Berenson from Lazard Freres, where he served as co-head of Lazard’s media group, prior to taking on a role as senior adviser. He will begin his new role in June, the firm said.

Global business investigations and consulting firm Corporate Resolutions has hired Wes Rigler as director of investigations in the firm’s New York headquarters. The firm’s intelligence gathering is used in investment decisions, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, buyouts, hiring of key executives, class action lawsuits and other potentially delicate business transactions.

The multi-strategy credit asset manager Highland Capital Management has appointed Jill Naponic as a business development associate. Naponic will be responsible for business development and investor relations support. She will report to Clay Shumway, head of business development, and will be based in Dallas.

Joshua Tanzer has joined Houlihan Lokey as a managing director and head of the private growth equity capital practice. Tanzer previously served as a managing director in Morgan Keegan’s technology group.

Kinetic Partners, a global professional services firm to the asset management, investment banking and broking industries, has appointed Patrick Voss as strategic marketing director. He will be responsible for linking business strategy with effective marketing planning and execution across territories and service lines. He previously worked for PwC and Microsoft.

O’Melveny & Myers has appointed a team of finance and mergers and acquisitions lawyers from law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf. Richard Shutran, Junaid H. Chida, Arthur V. Hazlitt, Mark Caterini and Dev R. Sen will be partners in O’Melveny’s New York office.

Chicago-based law firm Ropes & Gray has added Matt Richards as a partner in its private equity practice. Richards was formerly a partner at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago.

The credit adviser Victory Park Capital said it has hired Nick Hailey to be a managing director. Hailey is the former head of Revolution Partners‘ New York office. Victory Park also hired Derek Ferguson, who will serve as an investment professional in the Chicago office. Ferguson was a vice president at Maxim Partners. The firm said it has hired eight new staffers over the last nine months.
