Mid-market investment bank Brown Gibbons Lang & Co has appointed Clifford M. Sladnick as managing director. Previously, Sladnick worked at Hampton Advisors.

Investment bank Centerview Partners has hired Robin Budenberg and Nick Reid as partners in its London office. Previously, Budenberg was chief executive and then chairman of UK Financial Investments, while Reid worked at UBS, where he led the UK investment banking business before becoming co-head of the European business.

Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer& has appointed two head of department attorneys to the firm’s New York office. Mitchell Presser became head of Freshfields’ U.S. M&A practice and James Douglas joined as head of the firm’s U.S. leveraged finance practice. Presser was a founding partner of private equity firm Paine & Partners and was with the firm for seven years. He was previously a partner with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Douglas formerly served as head of the banking and finance practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Law firm Morgan Lewis has recruited David Ramm as a partner in its London business and finance practice. Ramm previously headed the London corporate department of another international law firm. He will focus on private equity, venture capital and general mergers and acquisitions matters.
