Baird has named investment banker Robert Rosenfeld a director on the consumer investment banking team.  He will work from Baird’s Chicago office. He served previously as a director in the mergers and acquisitions group at BMO Capital Markets in Chicago, focusing principally on mid-market food, consumer and retail clients.

Fifth Street Finance Corp. has named Dean Choksi senior vice president of finance and head of investor relations. He was most recently U.S. equity research director at UBS. Fifth Street Finance Corp. is a specialty finance company that lends to and invests in small and mid-sized companies, primarily in connection with investments by private equity sponsors.

Kevin Hudson has joined the accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP as its national private equity services managing director. Hudson’s experience includes work with McGladrey, Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche.

David Strupp has joined Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. as a managing director in health care investment banking effective immediately. He will be based in New York. Strupp joins from Rodman & Renshaw, where he served as a managing director in health care investment banking.

The investment bank Morgan Joseph TriArtisan said it added Timothy Lufkin as a managing director in its industrial investment banking group. Lufkin was most recently a managing director in the industrial and financial sponsors group at Cowen & Co.

The law firm Morrison & Foerster has added Jonathan M.A. Melmed as the head of its New York private equity practice. Melmed was previously a partner at Chadbourne & Parke LLP and head of the firm’s Canada practice.

The investment bank ROTH Capital Partners has named Richard deNey as managing director and head of technology investment banking. He joins from Needham & Co. where he was a managing director and head of mergers and acquisitions for the past eight years. ROTH is based in Newport Beach, Calif.

The Chicago-based law firm Winston & Strawn has hired Bradley Mandel, a private investment fund formation attorney. Mandel joins the firm from law firm Proskauer Rose, where he was an associate for the last three and a half years.
