Business advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause has appointed Tim H. Meyers as a managing director. Meyers brings nearly 30 years of experience as a principal investor with due diligence, deal structure, strategic advice, growth strategies, valuations, recaps, workouts and litigation support with strong experience in private equity and venture capital. In his new role, Meyers will focus on growing Baker Tilly’s mid-market and growth company practice.
The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association has appointed Vincenzo Morelli as its chairman for the year to June 2013. Morelli is partner emeritus and senior adviser to global investment firm TPG Capital.
Investment banking advisory firm Evercore Partners has appointed George Estey as senior managing director and head of Canada. He will be based in the firm’s new Toronto office, which will be open on Aug. 13.
Full Circle Capital , a business development company based in Rye Brook, N.Y., has appointed Crandall Deery as vice president of Full Circle Advisors, the investment adviser to Full Circle Capital Corp. Deery will be responsible for transaction execution, underwriting, due diligence and loan monitoring.
Independent investment bank Greenhill & Co. said it hired Eric Mendelsohn as a managing director focused on restructuring advisory. Greenhill has been bolstering its restructuring business as the growing turmoil in Europe has led to increased restructuring activity worldwide, Reuters reported. Mendelsohn was formerly at Lazard Ltd.
Monroe Credit Advisors has appointed Jeff Knopping as a managing director and partner to open its New York office. Monroe Credit Advisors is affiliated with Monroe Capital LLC, a mid-market lender.
Specialty lender NewStar Financial has hired veteran banker Mark Denomme as a managing director in its leveraged finance group. Denomme will join NewStar’s Boston office and have responsibility for generating new financing opportunities with mid-sized companies, private equity firms and other investors in the mid-market.
Schulte Roth & Zabel has added James McNally as a partner in London. McNally was a part of Dewey & LeBoeuf’s global private equity team led by Joseph Smith, who joined Schulte Roth & Zabel in New York in May.
