Quester VCT has sold its investment in Sibelius Software Ltd, a UK music applications software company, to Avid Technology Inc, a NASDAQ-listed technology company.
The sale is the realisation of a six-year investment that saw Quester VCT and Quester VCT 2 invest a total of £700,000 since November 1999.
Headquartered in London, Sibelius has a US subsidiary in California, Sibelius USA, and has more than quadrupled its size since Quester made its initial investment. It has become the world’s best-selling music notation software and is used by more than 100,000 people in over 1000 countries.
As a result of its acquisition, Sibelius will become part of Digidesign, the audio division of Avid Technology Inc.
