Audax Group has sold its position in CIBT Global Holdings Inc. to American Capital Strategies. No financial terms were reported. American Capital provided leveraged financing for Audax’s 2006 buyout of CIBT, a McLean, Va.-based provider of expedited travel documents.
Bausch & Lomb has agreed to acquire Eyeonics Inc., an Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based maker of ophthalmic medical devices like intraocular lens implants. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which is expected to close later this quarter. Bausch & Lomb was recently acquired by Warburg Pincus. Eyeonics had raised $43.5 million in VC funding since 1998, including a Series E round in late 2005 at a post-money valuation of approximately $84.2 million. Backers include ABS Ventures, Brentwood Venture Capital, Pequot Capital and Versant Ventures.
Francisco Partners has acquired AdvancedMD Software Inc., a Salt Lake City-based provider of Web-based medical practice management solutions. No financial terms were disclosed. AdvancedMD had raised around $20 million in VC funding since 1999, from firms like Domain Associates, Windward Ventures and Hunter Capital Group.
Incyte Capital has sponsored a recapitalization of Liquid Engines, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based provider of corporate tax management software. No financial terms were disclosed. Liquid Engines had raised over $40 million in VC funding from Advanced Technology Ventures, Carlyle Venture Partners, Charles River Ventures, SVB Capital Partners, Oak Hill Venture Partners and Catamount Ventures. Most recently, it secured $500,000 in bridge financing last August.
Investcorp has acquired Randall-Reilly Publishing Co., a provider of media and information to the U.S. trucking and construction market, from Wachovia. No financial terms were disclosed for the deal, which includes rollover equity participation from company management. Leveraged financing was co-arranged by GE Commercial Finance and CIT Capital, while Berkery Noyes represented Randall-Reilly.
Paine & Partners (f.k.a. Fox Paine & Co.) has sponsored a management buyout of the hedge fund sponsorship business of Capital Z Investment Partners. No financial terms were disclosed.
