Texas ERS commits $60 mln to Wind Point fund

Wind Point Partners invests in companies in the business services, consumer products and industrial products sectors.

Employees Retirement System of Texas invested in a fund from Wind Point Partners in October, according to the system’s operational due diligence analyst, Rodrigo Dominguez.

The system committed $60 million to Wind Point Partners IX, targeting $1.2 billion. Wind Point Partners invests in companies in the business services, consumer products and industrial products sectors with an enterprise value between $100 million to $400 million, according to Private Equity International.

Formed in 1984, Wind Point Partners has invested more than $4 billion to over 100 platform companies and 300 add-on acquisitions, according to its website.

Fund IX has received commitments this year from systems such as Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System and Minnesota State Board of Investments, Active LPs previously reported.

PA SERS pledged $75 million to Fund IX in July and Minnesota’s Investment Advisory Council invested $100 million in the fund in August.

Texas ERS plans to invest $800 million to private equity funds for fiscal year 2020, Active LPs previously reported.
