Three spin-out of Close Bros

Three executive directors of Close Growth Capital have spun-out of Close Brothers and called the new group Growth Capital Partners.

The partnership consists of Bill Crossan, who founded Close Growth Capital in 1999, Garrett Curran, joined CGC in 2001 from PwC and James Blake who joined the firm in 2005 from 3i.

Managing partner of GCP, Bill Crossan said: “Independence means that this team now has additional motivation and desire to build on our successes. Businesses and entrepreneurs are finding it difficult to access conventional bank debt and this presents an opportunity for GCP.”

Growth Capital Partners provides structured equity, combined equity and debt product to the UK’s small to medium-sized businesses. The firm typically invests £5-50m in management buyouts, development capital and secondary or tertiary buyouts. It currently manages approximately £90m of existing private equity investments and has eight portfolio companies including, Amor Group, Blueberry Group and Tangerine.
