ThyssenKrupp to sell luxury yachts

ThyssenKrupp will decide today, Thursday, on whether to sell its luxury yacht unit Nobiskrug, a spokesperson for ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) told German daily Handelsblatt.

The spokesperson added that TKMS’s supervisory board will vote on the potential sale on Friday.

According a reports financial investor Eagle River Capital is to take over Nobiskurg.

Handelsblatt said that domestic or foreign shipyards were not interested in acquiring the troubled unit that accumulated a €50m loss in the past two years.

Financial Times Deutschland said ThyssenKrupp is planning to restructure its shipping operations and wants to bundle its naval and civilian activities in two separate units.
