Claim Jumper Restaurants LLC filed for bankruptcy protection in a Delaware court. The Irvine, Calif.-based company plans to sell its assets and operations to an affiliate of Canyon Capital Advisors LLC. Claim Jumper listed assets in the $50 million-to-$100 million range and liabilities in the $100 million-to-$500 million range. The casual restaurant chain is listed as a portfolio company on the Web site of Leonard Green & Partners.

GSC Group Inc. and six affiliates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Florham Park, N.J.-based alternative asset manager plans to sell all its assets. GSC Group was formed in 1994 as a Travelers Group Inc. subsidiary. It was created to invest in private equity transactions. The business separated from its parent after Travelers and Citicorp merged. GSC has assets in the $1 million to $10 million range and liabilities in the $100 million to $500 million range.
