TTP chief retires

David Connell, the executive chairman of TTP Ventures, a VC house specialising in tech investments, retired on November 15. Connell was chief executive of TTP Ventures from its formation in 1998 until 2002, when Gerry Fitzsimons took over as CEO and Connell became executive chairman. Under Connell’s tenure TTP Ventures raised its first fund, with £35m (€49.81m) of commitments from Siemens, Boeing and financial institutions. It has made 21 investments. Alphamosaic, a Cambridge-based fabless semiconductor company, last month became the second of its portfolio companies to be sold to Broadcom Inc.
