TVM promotes Chapman to partner

TVM Techno Venture Management, the German-US venture capital firm, has promoted John Chapman to partner from principal. As principal he was responsible for investments in the information & communications technologies field. Chapman is TVM’s tenth partner, two of these are managing partners: Friedrich Bornikoel and Dr Helmut Schuhsler.

Chapman joined TVM in April 2000 as investment manager for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). He has 16 years of international M&A experience and a transaction record covering the telecommunications, retail, branded consumer goods and financial services industries, most recently at Paribas where he built the bank’s M&A operation in Germany.

In his first year with TVM, Chapman executed the sale of the German operations of T.I.M.E Communication Services AG to Genesys SA, and the sale of ATecoM Inc to GlobeSpan, Inc. He also advised MediGene AG during the final negotiations for the acquisition of NeuroVir Therapeutics, Inc.

As part of the ICT team Chapman focuses on investment opportunities in the business planning and process solutions sectors and advises TVM portfolio companies regarding potential acquisitions and trade sales.
