Vision hires four

Direct secondaries specialist Vision Capital has expanded its team with the appointments of four executives that will focus on operating capability, debt, finance and legal functions.

The recruits include: Johan Ven de Steen who will become the firm’s first operating partner. He joins from KKR-Capstone and will be responsible for the performance of portfolio companies and assessing new investments.

Steven Whitaker has been made partner and CFO. Prior to his latest appointment he was head of finance at hedge fund Bevan Howard.

Matt Schafer has been appointed principal specializing in credit. Schafer enters Vision from Nomura International where he was responsible for leveraged transactions.

And Andrew Lobb will be responsible for general counsel for Vision. He joins the firm from Bauger Group where he was managing director of legal and operations. In his new role, he will be in charge of legal co-ordination on transactions, internal matters and regulation.
