Vista promotes four into its partnership ranks

Vista Equity Partners in December promoted three senior vice presidents, Rachel Arnold, Justin Stalder and Justin Cho, and Director of Capital Markets Kevin Sofield, into its partnership ranks, which at the firm are classified as principals, sources told Buyouts.

Arnold, who works in Vista’s private equity operations group, joined Vista in 2012, prior to which she was an executive at four Vista portfolio companies. Arnold, based out of Austin, works with executive teams on investment strategies and operational improvements, her biography said.

Stalder, based in San Francisco, joined Vista in 2011, prior to which he worked at Pagemill Partners in the software and services group. At Vista, Stalder sits on the boards of Datto, Infoblox and TIBCO, according to Vista’s website.

Stalder also was involved in the firm’s investments in Accruent, Marketo, MRI Software and Sunquest Information Systems, the website said.

Austin-based Cho, a member of Vista’s small-cap group, joined Vista in 2005. Previously, he advised clients in technology and healthcare at Merrill Lynch.

Cho sits on the boards of ComplySci, Gather, Newscycle Solutions, RADAR and Trintech. Cho also was involved in the firm’s investments in BigMachines, P2 Energy Solutions, Regulatory DataCorp, Surgical Information Systems and Ventyx, the website said.

Sofield joined in 2013 from Goldman Sachs. He is responsible for managing portfolio company financing activities, according to Vista’s website.

Vista’s small-cap fund, Endeavor, closed on $560 million in 2017. Vista also has been raising its seventh flagship fund, targeting $12 billion. Fund VII could raise as much as $16 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported in October.
