Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe promote three to general partner, four to operating partners

On the Move: A roundup of comings and goings in the private equity industry.

PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe promoted three executives to general partner: David Caluori, Ryan Harper and Frances Higgins. The firm also appointed Lee Cooper, Tim Clifford, Emanuele Conti and John Fay as operating partners. Cooper was president and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, U.S. and Canada; Clifford was president and CEO of Frontline Education; Conti was the CEO of Opus Global; Fay was CEO of INTTRA.

Pelion Venture Partners named Jeff Kearl as a managing director. Kearl is a co-founder and former CEO of Stance.

Spindletop Capital Management added James H. Henry to its advisory board. Henry was previously managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Advent International named Jon McNeill as an advisory partner. McNeill previously worked at Lyft Inc and Tesla Motors Inc.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice named Björn Killmer as a partner. He was previously co-head of Triton Partners’ energy and resources team. The firm also named Jean-Luc Belingard an operating adviser to CD&R funds.

Franworth promoted Dave Keil to company president and named David Taccolini as chief financial officer.

Next Ventures, which was founded by Lance Armstrong and Lionel Conacher, named Melanie Strong as a managing partner. Strong was previously a member of the firm’s advisory board.

U.S. Venture Partners promoted Dafina Toncheva to general partner. Toncheva joined the firm in 2012.

ORIX Capital Partners hired Craig Kahler as managing director. Kahler previously led the New York-based private equity team of Safanad.

Vida Ventures hired Jean-Philippe Kouakou-Zebouah as chief financial and chief operating officer. He previously worked at Versant Ventures where he was senior vice president of finance.

GTCR made three promotions: Michael Hollander to managing director; Stephen Master and KJ McConnell to principal.

Pantheon hired John Eggleston as a partner and chief technology officer, while Richard Berke joined as global head of recruitment. Eggleston comes from BGF plc; Berke comes from Insight Investment.

Norwest Equity Partners hired Adam Garcia Eveloff and Beth Lesniak as managing directors. The firm also promoted Jason Sondell was promoted to managing director.

David Smith joined Treehouse Real Estate Investment Trust as executive vice president and CFO. Previously Smith was executive vice president and CFO of New Senior Investment Group Inc.

Greylock Partners hired David Wadhwani as a venture partner. Wadhwani was previously CEO of Greylock-backed AppDynamics.

AE Industrial Partners promoted four professionals: Jon Nemo to senior partner; Charlie Compton, Kirk Konert and Peter Schumacher to partner.

Paladin Capital Group promoted Mourad Yesayan to managing director. He joined the firm in 2009.

Rally Ventures named Justin Kaufenberg as a partner. Kaufenberg was co-founder and CEO of SportsEngine.

KKR announced Stanislas de Joussineau will lead the Global Impact team in Europe while Sharon Yang will join the unit as a senior investor in Asia.

Trivest Partners made several hires: Kristin Archer and Mario Masrieh as vice president investment professionals; Patrick Mirski and Jonathan Schonfeld as senior associate investment professionals; Hans Grunwaldt as vice president in its portfolio support group.

Periscope Equity promoted John Findlay to partner. Findlay joined in 2013 as vice president.

Scale Venture Partners hired Chris Yin as the firm’s newest principal, Sanjeev Kriplani as entrepreneur-in-residence and Erik Archer Smith as head of marketing.

Matt Anderson was named first chief digital officer of Carlyle Group and Stefan Grunwald was appointed to role to chief procurement officer. Anderson is former president and chief digital officer at Arrow Electronics; Grunwald is ex-senior vice president at Cardinal Health.

Trinity Ventures named Brett Wilson and Neil Daswani as executives in residence. Wilson is the former CEO and co-founder of TubeMogel; Daswani is co-founder and co-director of Stanford’s Advanced Computer Security Certificate Program.

Pomona Capital promoted Patrick Madaus to partner. He joined the firm in 2011.

Apollo made a series of promotions: Matt Nord and David Sambur to co-lead partners of private equity; Olivia Wassenaar and Geoff Strong to co-leads of Apollo’s Natural Resources Business. Also, Greg Beard will be transitioning to senior adviser to Apollo through mid-2020, and Dylan Foo joins as a senior partner and co-lead of Apollo’s infrastructure business.

Five G Capital Partners named former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos as a senior managing director and chairman of the advisory board.

MidOcean Partners appointed Natalya Michaels as a managing director. She was previously a managing director at Artisan Partners.

Monica Varmon joined G2VP’s investment team. She previously worked at McKinsey & Company.

Ovation Fertility named Ian Koons as a vice president of physician partnerships. The provider of fertility lab services is backed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners.

Biocare Medical appointed Nicholas Barthelemy as executive chairman. The developer of immunohistochemistry and molecular reagents and instruments is a portfolio company of Excellere Partners.

Growth Catalyst Partners-backed CyberRisk Alliance, a company focused on cybersecurity and the information risk management marketplace, added Malcom Harkins to its board of directors.

Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists, a provider of multi-specialty orthopedic and neurosurgery, named Christopher R. Fusco as chief growth officer. ONS was backed by Kohlberg & Company.

Advanced Agrilytics appointed Paul Schickler as chairman of the board. The agronomics services business is backed by Paine Schwartz Partners.

Verve Therapeutics, a next-generation cardiovascular company, named Dr. Andrew Bellinger as chief scientific officer. Verve’s backers include GV, ARCH Venture Partners, F-Prime Capital and Biomatics Capital.

Provider of personalized cell therapy for solid tumors PACT Pharma appointed Tim Moore as president and chief technical officer. Its backers include GV, Canaan, Casdin Capital, Droia, Foresite Capital, Invus, Pontifax, Wu Capital, AbbVie Ventures and Taiho Ventures.

Fluid Delivery Solutions named David Christmas as CEO. The company is backed by Trilantic North America.

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants named Pam Stoutenburgh as a principal for the firm’s property and casualty operations. The company is backed by Oak Hill Capital Partners.

EZ Texting named Craig Klemp as vice president of partnerships. The provider of SMS marketing software for business is backed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, Investor AB and ROCA Partners.

Thoma Bravo-backed Quorum Software named Tom Lacy as executive vice president of engineering and Clay Myers as chief financial officer.

NorthStar Midstream, a midstream services company, named Brian L. Melton as senior vice president, commercial. NorthStar is backed by Oaktree Capital Management.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Macquarie Capital named Vincent Repaci as managing director and head of a new asset-based finance group. The firm also appointed Matthew Magnuson as a managing director and head of credit analytics. Also Chad Hersch was named a credit trader and senior vice president while Jodi Joskowitz as a senior vice president and credit salesperson.

CBRE Global Investors named Charles Leitner as CEO. Leitner was previously CEO and president of Berkshire Group.

Virtua Capital Management hired Michael Roman as senior vice president of business development. Virtua Capital Management is the capital formation arm of Virtua Partners.

Amherst Partners named Erik Morandi as an analyst for its restructuring advisory practice. He previously worked at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

Digital Colony named Leslie Wolff Golden as managing director. Golden previously worked at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets as a managing director.

Goldner Hawn named Danny Geiger as an associate. Previously Geiger worked at BMO Capital Markets.

Alvarez & Marsal hired Christopher Kulp as a managing director on its private equity services group. Kulp worked as a partner with PRTM Management Consultants and PwC.

Eurazeo named Pierre Bernardin as head of investor relations. Bernardin was previously head of investor relations at Econocom.
