Wendel appoints new MD

Roland Lienau has joined the investment team of the private equity LVBO firm Wendel as managing director in charge of development in Germany, a position he will take up at the beginning of 2008.

Lienau joins from Deutsche Bank where he was a managing director since his appointment to the equity investments team in 1999. In 2004 he was put in charge of all financing and structuring operations in the German markets

He began his career in 1988 at Enskilda Securities (Wallenberg Group) in London and

Enskilda Effekten in Frankfurt where he set up and developed the equities department for the German market. He then worked for Paribas from 1994 to 1999 where he was in charge of capital markets operations and the development of Paribas’s investment activities in Germany.
