Aerospace veteran joins Insensys

3i backed Insensys has appointed John Weston, former CEO of British Aerospace and BAE Systems as chairman of the board. Insensys is a UK business which provides unique fibre optic load measurement technology to the wind energy and aerospace markets.

Weston became CEO of British Aerospace in1998 overseeing the change to BAE SYSTEMS, which took it from an organisation with sales of around £7.5bn and 55,000 employees, located mainly in the UK, to an international group which handles sales of £12.5bon, and 120,000 employees.

From 2002 until 2006, he was the non-executive chairman of Spirent, a UK telecoms equipment business.
